It is advisable to spare atleast one or two three days to do a cultural tour,  Engikaret is one of the typical maasai village outside of Arusha town . During the tour you will have an opportunity to learn allot about this tribe, Dancing, local food, grazing with them , and local BBQ.

Itinerary

Day 0: 

Pickup from Kilimanjaro Airport / Arusha Airport or in the bus station and transfer to your hotel in Arusha booked by Oltumure Tours and Safari this night is free on bed and breakfast , Airport pckup and drop off is free as well.

Day 1: 

Pickup from your hotel in Arusha 10:00 am and transfer to the maasai village short tour and overnight in the small tents which with supply together with you.

Day 2: 

Full day tour with maasai, dancing with them, grazing, milking cows and goats ,  and Local BBQ , overnight there.

Day 3:

Half day tour and drive back to Arusha.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP THE STAFF?

Tips is highly recommend, we recommend you tip your guide 20$ a day, your cook 15$ a day and potters 10$ a day however tips has no limit, you can tip as much as you can

 

 

 

 

3 DAYS OLDONYO LENGAI TREK
Day 0:

Pickup from either Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha, Oltumure tours and Safaris we offer our clients one free night in Arusha on Bed and breakfast / Airport pickup and drop off free.

Day 1:

Depart from Arusha at 7.00 am and drive to Engaresero village (Lake Natron) with packed lunch. This is about 8 hours driving. Dinner and overnight at Ngosek Guest house.

Day 2:

At very early in morning 1.00 a.m. drive to the base of the Oldonyo Lengai Mountain to start the climb. Reach at the summit during Sunrise and spend few minutes there before coming down to the base of the mountain. From there clients will be transfered by jeep to Ngosek Guest house for shower and rest. Dinner and overnight at Ngosek Guest house.

Day 3: Breakfast. Drive back to Arusha
Inclusive:
  • 2 transfers from Moshi/Arusha to Oldonyo Lengai – return
  • 3 meals per day while trekking – vegeterian/non vegeterian
  • climb of oldonyo Lengai
  • First and last night accommodation at hotel /Arusha Bed & Breakfast

No the price cover on what is included, there is optional part during the safari such as Maasai tribe visit, Olduvai George ect however we will clarify this during the your safari or climb brief/ orientation.

Getting into Tanzania

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International (JRO) Northern circuit safaris:

To get to JRO, you can travel with Qatar Airways, Kenya Airways, KLM, Turkish Airlines or Ethiopian Airlines.

If you wish to travel with British Airways, Air France, United Airlines, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Delta, Lufthansa or Etihad, then you fly to Jomo Kenyatta in Nairobi, Kenya and then take another short flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).

 

Arusha Airport (ARK)

You can also choose  to fly to Arusha Airport that has several local daily flights to safari destinations. Some of the local destinations include Manyara, Seronera and Kogatende. Should you wish to combine Safari and beach holidays, flights to Zanzibar, Mafia and Pemba are also available daily.

Julius Nyerere International, Dar es Salaam

Julius Nyerere International airport is serviced by several international airline carriers: Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Swiss, South African Airlines and KLM. Upon arrival, you have the option of boarding a connecting flight to any of the northern circuit or western circuit destinations, as well as Zanzibar if you so wish. It only takes five minutes to get to the domestic terminal, and all connecting flights are only about 2 hours long.

Note: Most of our itineraries require a night in either Arusha or Dar es Salaam before starting your Safari.

Charter Flights

For direct flights to all the national parks, choose a private charter aircraft. This means no lengthy pit stops. Instead, you can enjoy a private flight that can land at any time during daylight hours (before 6:30pm). The luggage weight limit for these flights is 20kg. Local Airlines

Our local airlines are Air Excel, Costal Aviation, Regional Air, Northern Air, Auric Air and Flight Link. These airlines use Cessna Grand Caravans or similar aircrafts, which carry between 9 and 13 passengers.

Luggage Restrictions

Our local airlines don’t allow for hard shell luggage cases. Instead, please use soft sided suitcases and keep your luggage to 15 kg per passenger.
