Dates & Program Costs

At Travellers Africa, we welcome volunteers year-round. Whether you’re joining us for one week or several months, your experience will be meaningful, culturally rich, and fully supported by our local team.

Our programs begin every Monday year-round. If you have travel constraints, you can still start your chosen program on any day of the year.

Accommodation

During your program, you will stay either with a carefully selected host family or in our dedicated volunteer guest houses. Your placement depends on availability, group size, and the nature of your project.

• All accommodation options are personally inspected by our in-country staff.
• Host families are fully vetted to ensure safety and comfort.

Note: Life in Tanzania may be different from home. Access to electricity and running water can occasionally be limited, but we ensure the best possible living standards within the local context. If you ever feel uneasy, simply speak to our local coordinator.

Program Fees & Duration

Our programs are designed to make meaningful travel accessible to everyone. All fees directly support your placement, accommodation, local staff, and community initiatives.

Your program fee covers all essentials from application to return:

• Comfortable accommodation & daily meals
• Airport pick-up on arrival in Tanzania
• 24/7 in-country support and supervision
• Pre-departure guidance from your Personal Program Manager
• Preparation tools, checklists, and volunteering guides
• Certificate of International Volunteering upon completion
• Access to recommended travel insurance and flight partners

❌ What’s Not Included

These expenses should be budgeted separately:

• Entry visa & Volunteer/Student permit
• Travel, medical, and accident insurance
• Drinks (sodas, bottled water, alcohol)
• Tips and personal expenses

📌 Additional Notes & Surcharges

• Registration Fee: None.
• Banking Fee: 5% added at the time of payment.
• Volunteers under 18 (solo): +$80/week for enhanced supervision.
• Personal Spending: Recommended $50–$75 per week.

Project Specific Surcharges:

• Medical Project: +$80 per week
• Construction & Renovation: +$49 per week
• Animal Welfare: One-time $80 fee
• Sustainable Agriculture: One-time $80 fee
